We get many requests for bilingual Bibles and gospel materials. Unfortunately, these are not easy to find. Here a few new titles our search turned up this week:

Through The Eyes Of Another:
Intercultural Reading Of The Bible

This book chronicles the experience of 120 groups in 22 countries who studied the story from John 4 of Jesus' encounter with a Samaritan woman. The book reflects the excitement of lessons learned as well as the surprises and disagreemnts that emerge as each group interprets the passage through the lens of local culture.

A Mosaic of Believers: Diversity and Innovation in a Multiethnic Church by Gerardo Marti (Indiana University Press, 2005) takes us inside one of the largest multiethnic congregations in America.
United by Faith: The Multiracial Congregation as an Answer to the Problem of Race by Curtiss Paul De Young, Michael Emerson, George Yancey, and Karen Chai Kim (Oxford University Press, 2003) examines the history of multiracial congregations in the United States, includes an analysis of four multicultural congregations, and offers responses to the racial segregation of congregations.

Week of February 20, 2005

The 2005 annual conference of the Ethnic America Network will be held on April 7-9, 2005, in Dallas/Ft.Worth, Texas. The Ethnic America Network is a coalition of ministries encouraging local churches to share Christ's love with the growing ethnic diversity in our communities, working in conjunction with Mission America, the Billy Graham Center, and dozens of other denominations and agencies.
